1985- Neil Simon’s play “Biloxi Blues” premiered in New York City, New York for the first time. Simon is an American playwright and screenwriter and has written several comedic plays, such as “The Odd Couple,” and “I Ought to Be in Pictures.”

1990- Michael Jordan, a member of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, scored a total of 69 points in a single game. That was the fourth time he has ever scored over 60 points in a game.

1996- A 17-year-old girl from Oklahoma, Katie Beam, was crowned the thirty-fifth Miss Teenage America.
