Take a moment and think back to your childhood. Think about the clothes your parents or guardians dressed you in, or the clothes you dressed yourself in. Those denim jackets with denim pants or corduroy overalls were sometimes a bit funny. Pink and sparkles defined girls’ clothing.

“I mostly wore clothes from Justice. I also wore lots of sparkles and lots of neon colors,” said Abby Seaser ’16.

Not only were pink and sparkles prevalent in girls’ fashion, there were also gauchos, velour sweat suits, Bobby Jack t-shirts, overall dresses, jean skirts with funky designs, and, of course, the little butterfly clips worn in the hair.

“I used to wear those jumper dresses with tights underneath. My mom dressed me like that because I don’t think I would’ve worn that,” said Kaileen Bauer ’15.

In additions to girls’ fashion, the boys’ apparel back in the day was definitely unforgettable. Sweat pants that had a zipper right below the knee and at the ankle to show off the shoe were definitely all the rage. However, there were many different clothes options for boys in years past.

“When I was little, I never forgot that I used to wear jeans overalls because I wore them all of the time,” said Landin Kircus ’15.

Boys also wore lots of denim. Jean jackets were definitely hip during the early 2000s.

“I constantly wore a jean jacket and jeans but I wore no shirt underneath my jacket. And, of course, I wore Nike shoes with my outfit,” said Nike Angelo ’15.

Along with jeans, a lot of boys wore sweat suits.

“As a kid, I wore the matching jumpsuits almost all of the time. They were so comfortable,” said Joey Angyal ’15.

Lastly, Crocs with wiggits and Heely’s were very common shoe apparel.

As time goes on, fashion always changes, but the memories of your childhood outfits remain forever. Especially when captured on film for all eternity!
